Reports of a Brangelina breakup have been circulating for weeks, but the couple’s appearance at last night’s Director’s Guild of America Awards helped show the public that they are still very much together.

Despite being photographed separately during the evening, the two reportedly sat together at director Quentin Tarantino’s table where they were spotted looking cosy and happy in each other’s company. This was Brad and Ange’s first public appearance together since December and Brad’s solo appearance at the Hope for Haiti Now telethon last week further fuelled the breakup speculation, with many suggesting he’s leaving Angelina for his ex Jennifer Aniston, who was also at the telethon.

The Brangelina saga has seen countless breakup rumours over the almost five years they’ve been together, and while the recent rumours seemed almost certain, with the couple reportedly meeting with lawyers to discuss the separation, they once again proved to be false.

But their appearance together last night was not the only surprise. Brad’s appearance last night also came as a surprise given that he had shunned all the major awards shows recently, including the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild awards, reportedly because his performance in Inglourious Basterds had been overlooked. But the actor was on hand to honour the film’s director, Quentin, calling him “a joy to work for and a joy to work with.”
