John Mayer still not over Jen
But he still wouldn’t settle down with her
If there’s one thing John Mayer isn’t, it’s reserved. The Continuum singer has a habit of speaking candidly on all kinds of subjects, including his high-profile relationships with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. And while it makes for great gossip headlines, his exes aren’t always thrilled about his “honesty.”
His on-and-off relationship with Jennifer Aniston ended for the last time last January, and John decided to take the break up to the streets telling paparazzi outside his New York City gym that he had called it quits with the famous actress. “I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right.”
But it now seems John is rethinking his decision to end things with the Marley & Me star. He tells Rolling Stone magazine, “I’ve never really gotten over it. It was one of the worst times of my life. I have this weird feeling, a pride thing, for the people I’ve had relationships with.”
But he dismisses any speculation that the two would reunite by saying, “What would I be saying to Jen, who I think is f****** fantastic, if I said to her, 'I don’t dislike you. In fact, I like you extremely well. But I have to back out of this because it doesn’t arc over the horizon. This is not where I see myself for the rest of my life, this is not my ideal destiny.”
