Hollywood actor Mel Gibson has lashed out at media and the public for the furore surrounding Tiger Woods’ infidelity. The Braveheart star is upset with all the attention paid to Tiger and his personal life when there are ‘more important issues’ in the world.

“I feel sorry for Tiger Woods. Why are we talking about this when we are sending 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan? You’ve got this history-changing event going on and we’re talking about Tiger’s private life and golf injuries,” he said in a recent interview.

Mel faced a similar situation to Tiger last year when he split with his wife of 28 years, Robyn, after having his eighth child with new girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

“He’s being used as a diversion and it just drives me crazy. You come out savaged. I just think, ‘Who cares?’”
