Jacob & Co do the Burj

David and Victoria Beckham, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Alba, Bono, Madonna, Sean Combs, Jessica Simpson, Sophia Bush, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Gisele Bundchen, amongst hundreds of others have long been quick to snap up the gorgeous diamond jewellery of Jacob & Co. Some of us however, can only watch it gleam from afar (sigh).

Jacob & Co. are known internationally in the music, entertainment, sports, celebrity and social worlds as a maker of amaaaazing and unrivalled jewellery and timepieces. So... in true, glamourous style, they threw a swanky do yesterday (March 2) in the all-too-fitting Burj Al Arab - where they're launching at the boutique in May.

The founder himself, Jacob Arabo, and the CEO Mohi-Din BinHendi, were there to unveil a brand new collection, all designed to emphasise the rare and gorgeous cuts and colors that basically created that aura of romance surrounding diamonds in the first half of the twentieth century! Oh, to live in those times, when we could have matched them to some fine vintage dresses without having to splash out a fortune in a second-hand store.

Basically, we wanted everything!

We couldn't take our eyes off the sparkling rose cut, cushion cut and heart-shaped diamonds - how could we have let Valentine's Day slip without a nudge at our blokes in this fanciful direction? The square, emerald cut stones beckoned us over like treasures on a previously undiscovered island - what would we have to do to get one?? It was all a bit too much...

Other pieces from the jewelry collection include wide cuffs, straight-line "stiletto" chandeliers, and seemingly endless wraparound chains of round and fancy shaped diamonds... we could go on. Now all we need is a payrise, right! A few bits were in our price range... we suppose... if we save for a few weeks. Or perhaps we'll just continue our little daydream about Justin buying us something when he moves to Abu Dhabi.
