THE post-mortem on the body of STEPHEN GATELY has revealed he died of natural causes. Speaking outside the court in Majorca's capital Palma, on official said the tragic 33-year-old suffered a pulmonary oedema - an accumulation of fluid on the lungs.

Police have already ruled out suspicious circumstances which means Stephen's parents  are now free to make arrangements to fly his body home.

It is believed his former Boyzone bandmates will fly with his body back to Ireland in the coming days

Friends and family of the star - who died in his apartment on the Spanish isle - are still awaiting the results of in-depth toxicology tests, which will take longer to come back.

Prior to the post-mortem announcement, a lawyer for Stephen's family said that they believe his sudden death was due to natural causes and that no drugs were involved.

Gerald Kean said: "This sort of thing does happen, we are absolutely happy that there is no foul play.

"Their sole purpose and function at the moment is to try and get their son and brother home as quickly as possible."
