The restaurant prides itself on dishing up contemporary Indian cuisine, but for the more traditional Indian food lover, there are plenty of classics to placate your palate.

Stifle your hunger pangs until your starter arrives and nibble on some poppadoms, which come with the obligatory mint, mango chutney and chilli and lime pickle accompaniments.

For starters, we loved the tiger prawns deep fried in batter that come perfectly complemented by a mint dressing. If you’re watching your waist or don’t have a huge appetite, it might be an idea to share – Asha’s certainly believes in generous portions!

The chicken jalfrezi came recommended from the wait staff and, as it turned out, their confidence was justified. Loaded with succulent, tandoori-cooked chicken in a tangy tomato-based sauce with capsicum, onions, garlic and chilli, it’s easy to see why this is such a popular dish. And you should definitely pair up your main dish with special pilau rice and a side order of garlic naan.

For dessert, opt for the platter so you can taste test traditional Indian desserts like homemade mango kulfi, galub jamun, ras malai and halwa. Delish!
