KANYE WEST has had a moment of clarity and admitted that his shocking TAYLOR SWIFT protest at the VMAs was wrong.

Kanye stormed the stage while Taylor was accepting her award for Best Female Video and declared to everyone with ears that fellow nominee Beyonce was robbed!

But writing on his blog the manic rapper backtracked on his stunt and said he was keen to apologise to poor old Taylor - who sources say was left distraught and embarrassed backstage.

He said: I'm in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment." Um, you think??

He bleats on: "Beyonce's video was the best of this decade . . . I'm sorry to my fans if I let you guys down . . . I'm sorry to my friends at MTV . . . I will apologize to Taylor.

"I'm still very happy for Taylor. I really feel bad for Taylor and I'm sincerely sorry."

That's big of you Kanye.

Meanwhile tearful Taylor has given her take on the event.

She said: "I was standing on stage and I was really excited because I'd just won the award and then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage.

"And then I wasn't excited anymore after that."  Well, yeah, that'd kill it.
