Grieving couple JOHN TRAVOLTA and KELLY PRESTON made their first public appearance since the tragic death of their son JETT - to promote the film they star in alongside daughter ELLA BLEU.

The pair was left distraught after 16 year old Jett died in January after suffering a seizure while on a family vacation in the Bahamas.

Devastated Travolta pulled out of all promotional duties for The Taking Of Pelham 1 2 3, which was released in August, with his co-star Denzel Washington revealing the actor often broke down in tears.

But the family put on brave faces to attend the Disney's D23 Expo in California on Friday, and received a rapturous welcome from fans.

Travolta, Preston and daughter Ella - who all star in new film Old Dogs - were moved by the warm reception, prompting Travolta to thanks fans for the support, saying, "We appreciate the love."
