KRISTEN STEWART feels sorry for her Twilight co-star ROBERT PATTINSON when he is hounded by gangs of teenage girls - because she is rarely ever recognised on the street.

Rob, who plays Kristen's onscreen love interest in the vampire franchise, has been plagued by swarms of paparazzi and over-excited devotees since he shot to fame in the 2008 film.

Kristen admits she doesn't receive the same kind of attention, insisting fans either fail to spot her or feel too intimidated to approach.

She says, "Really, people don't recognise me often. I think I just look different in person or something. I'm also not very approachable, and maybe they're thinking, 'Ooh, she's scary.'"
