Inheritance cut
After her grandfather, Barron, revealed he was leaving 97 per cent of his Dhs7 billion fortune to charity, the heiress saw her inheritance fall from Dhs360 million to just Dhs18 million.

The new Paris: "What my grandfather did was an incredible thing. He's going to be helping a lot of people. I think it's amazing that he is so generous."

A sense of humour
With all the posturing and posing she does, it's hard to imagine Paris actually having a sense of humour. But her recent acceptance of Harvard university's satirical magazine, Lampoon's Woman of the Year award, showed a little glimmer of funny.

The new Paris: "Thank you all for coming," she told the crowds. "An international icon meets countless people every day." (And yes, the girl was joking.)

Not a wimp
The amount of pink the socialite wears means you'd be forgiven if your ‘Wimpy Girl' radar went haywire every time you saw a pic of Paris in a mag. But she recently risked her girly girl persona to admit she can be tough.

The new Paris: "I'm really good at ice hockey. I've been playing since I was 15. I play defence in hockey. I like to check people, push people down!"

Having spent the past few years denouncing every anti-Paris article as "mean", the ‘It' girl has chilled out about a bit what gets written about her in the press.

The new Paris: "I won't sue or demand a retraction... there's no point putting that much energy into it."

Lately, the heiress, inspired by the likes of Ange and Nicole Richie, has been more inspired by charitable celebs than partying.

The new Paris: "[Angelina Jolie] has a very big heart and she uses her name to help people and to bring attention to causes and I admire that a lot."
