Serving Indian cuisine with an emphasis on specialities from Bombay and the coastal regions, Bombay by the Bay is one of Dubai’s newest star restaurants. With its warm and lush interior which is welcoming and contemporary, the venue, which opened in April, uses design features from post-modern India to create an authentic dining experience. There are hints of the traditional days too though, especially in the stunning peacock punkhas which depict the classic Royal era of India. The romantic exterior terrace offers stunning views of the endless ocean and is ideal for seasonal alfresco dining. The extensive menu suits all palates, from the traditionally hot and spicy flavours, to those options with a more delicate taste. Spices and ingredients are also specially sourced from India to ensure authenticity of flavour. Signature dishes include Koli fish – a starter of hammour slices marinated in coastal spices, while recommended mains include the stir fried lobster, Bombay-style, the Awadhi lamb curry and the grilled salmon fillet with mandarin reduction.
