The décor of Giorgio Armani’s first café in the Middle East, is about as fashionable as one would expect it to be. Gloriously beautiful models pout down at the diners from their life-size portraits on the walls, while the minimalist style tables and chairs, all look as though they’ve been on a serious diet. But eye-wateringly trendy ambiance aside, this just happens to be a seriously cool place to hang out. It’s certainly been a hit with the lovely young things about town. And if your perception of fashion has always been how one should not eat to be beautiful, then a glimpse at the café’s mouthwatering menu will convert your jaded thinking. There are carbs galore to be feasted upon, including pastas, pizzas (though only with micro-thin crusts) and puddings to diet for. There are also lots of protein-based dishes too, like the superb smoked tuna and swordfish carpaccio, along with juicy salads galore. While it may not fill up a true foodie’s tum, the Emporio Armani Caffe is certainly a place see and be seen.
