One of the best Moroccan restaurants in Abu Dhabi, Marakesh is a lively and entertaining eatery with plenty of authentic, North African charm. The rather splendid interior is as bold as it is friendly, with pink patterned satin and wood dining chairs, lots of dark wood fittings and walls lined with traditionally designed Moroccan tiles. The ambiance is warm and relaxed, with a good serving of entertainment. This really kicks off when the floor show starts at 10:30pm with a very enthusiastic belly dancer. But performances aside, the real draw is the food. Tasty and traditional tagines are filled with slow-cooked and succulent lamb, served with dates, onions and a delicious honey sauce, while the chunky, Moroccan vegetable soup is satisfying, aromatic and fresh. The menu is a varied, well-balanced affair offering an excellent selection of chicken, red meat and vegetable choices. The mains are then thoroughly complimented by the superb selection of desserts – all authentic and perfect closing numbers to the meal. Marakesh is all about sociable, Middle Eastern hospitality and fun, so it’s the idea choice for any celebratory occasion.
