With its lively and sociable atmosphere, Chammas, which serves up first class Brazilian and South American cuisine, is a restaurant that must be booked well in advance. The cleverly designed dining room features a large salad bar and live-band platform, while the contemporary décor in all its natural wood and white, damask glory, provides ambiance by the bucketful. It’s certainly not a cosy, intimate affair though. Instead, Chammas is filled with lots of noise, hustle and bustle, plates clanking as the jolly band joins in the fray. There is also a unique concept in terms of ordering. Chamas doesn’t do menus. Instead, diners are given a card with red and green sides, to tell the staff whether or not to bring the food out, which comprises of barbequed meat, grilled meat, roasted meat and skewered meat of all descriptions. In fact the salad bar is probably the only place in Chammas where one will find vegetarian food. Not for the small-stomached and certainly not for vegetarians, this is the place to go for those seeking laughter, fun and of course, meat!
