The rooftop restaurant at Le Royal Meridien in Abu Dhabi is known for two things; that it revolves, giving diners incredible views of the most structured city in the emirates, and because it serves the best Friday brunch in the city. For a more romantic experience, however, a visit by night is essential. The ambience of Al Fanar is also interesting because the interior, which has a slightly 80’s feel to it, gives out a charming ‘old school’ vibe. But at the same time, the rotating factor provides a futuristic dimension. However, this little quirk is not overpowering enough to distract one from the stunning views outside. The international menu is also of notable quality, with an excellent range of options which appeal to all palates. Signature dishes include the delicious monkfish with cous cous, the melt-in-the-mouth veal fillet with mushroom dumplings and the unusual but delectable black truffle ice cream.
