Margaux
Romance, ambiance, veiws and sublime French/Italian cuisine
MargauxLocated on a balcony corner of Souk al Bahar, this mid-sized, well-located Italian-French restaurant has a New York City feel. Low lighting, natural woods with stone, white and silver table dressings and incredible views of the Burj Dubai and water fountains, all conspire to make Margaux one of the city’s most romantic night spots. Happily, the cuisine is as good as good as the setting. Freshly baked breads with warm, fluffy innards and just the right amount of flavoured crust are generously served, while the Head Chef, Julian Mercier – who trained under the famous and Michelin-studded Alain Ducasse – presides over the sublime and hearty menu, which is accompanied by a staggering 800 bottle wine list. Those seeking a romantic supper or an ambient and convivial dinner should book tables outside, where the fresh air and views complement the aromatic flavours of the food. Signature dishes include the Buratta mozzarella and the Cesar salad, while the house steak with Margaux’s home-made sauce and truffle mash speaks entirely for itself.
