Cavalli Club
Even the pasta is fashionably attired in Zebra-print stripes
Cavalli ClubThere are so many different dimensions to the newly opened Cavalli Club that it’s difficult to know where to begin. Conceived entirely by super-celebrity fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, and built on two floors, the club boasts a highly-recommended Italian restaurant run by a two-starred Michelin chef, while another level has a dancefloor with Dj’s suspended from hanging pods attached to the ceiling. There is also a screamingly exclusive boutique, a sushi bar, a cocktail lounge, a cigar lounge and a champagne bar. Extras aside, the main restaurant is an experience to behold. Animal prints co-exist in dramatic harmony with cascades of Swarovski crystals created to form sweeping, glittering curtains. The ambiance is vital, luxurious and terribly, terribly fashionable. The cuisine is also superb. All the pasta is freshly made, and many of the ingredients are flown in from Italy to ensure authenticity and freshness. Signature dishes include the delectable zebra-print turbot cannaloni with sabyon of wild mushroom, fillet of Sardinian sea bass in potato crust with Italian cherry tomatoes, and a dessert worth dying for – the parfait of torrone with mostarda of Cremona on a bed of Clementine marinated with a warm, spiced chocolate infusion.
