Married: April 11, 1981

What's The Deal?
Hairdresser Debra (not pictured) was Sean's childhood sweetheart. They wed aged just 21.

What Went Wrong?
Friends say that after Sean won a scholarship to RADA (Royal Academy for the Dramatic Arts) and moved to London to train as an actor months after their wedding, that the pair soon drifted apart. It's not known exactly when they divorced.

She Says: "He may be a working class lad from the North, but underneath he's sensitive and shy."

Wife #2
Name: Melanie Hill

Married: February 27, 1990

What's The Deal?
A famous TV actress in the UK (she played Aveline in the popular Brit sitcom, Bread), Melanie (above) met Sean at RADA, and the pair were together for 16 years - and were married for six of those.

Kids?
The pair have two daughters - Lorna, now 20, and Molly, now 16.

What Went Wrong?
It was a stormy break-up for these two, who divorced in August 1997, as Melanie accused Sean of watching too much football, spending too much time in the pub and leaving his clothes all over the house.

She Says: "After the initial stages of the break-up, it's possible to be friends again. After 16 years with someone, you always have a bond."

Name: Abigail Cruttenden

Married: November 22, 1997

What's The Deal?
Brit actress Abigail met Sean on the set of TV movie, Sharpe, which established Sean as a heartthrob in his native UK. Sean said of the year they met, "I've got divorced, married, had a baby and moved house. That's enough for me."

Kids?
One daughter, Evie Natasha, now nine.

What Went Wrong?
The pair's split has been kept under wraps, but soon after the divorce, Sean tellingly revealed, "With your private life being written up in the press, you can't be as discreet about things as you would like to be." Hmm, did he cheat?

She Says: "When I told people I was going to work with Sean, they said, ‘My god! You're so lucky.' He has such a huge appeal to women."

Name: Georgina Sutcliffe

Married: The ceremony was supposed to take place on January 7.

What's The Deal?
Yet another actress, 29-year-old Georgina came along soon after Sean revealed, "It's difficult to meet someone in my job with all the travelling, but dating an actress does have its plus side."

Why Was It Cancelled?
"I don't know why," said Sean's dad, Brian. "He hasn't said anything to us."

What Went Wrong?
"Sean and I have just got back from Rome and I'm absolutely shattered," insisted Georgina. "We do intend to get married shortly." So, it seems as if they cancelled the wedding because of lack of sleep. Hmm...

She Says: "So what? We've just rescheduled because of personal issues and work commitments."

Sean And Sienna?
Well, she's pursued just about everyone else in Hollywood, so it was only a matter of time before Sisi went after, erm, Sese!

After falling for Sean on the set of their movie, A Woman Of No Importance, friends of the actress say she became besotted with the older actor.

"She's completely mesmerised by Sean," revealed a pal. "She told friends that she can't help feeling transfixed by his green eyes and loves the fact that he's a real macho man." While another added, "He's almost twice Sienna's age but she doesn't care."

Didn't stop her with Sean Penn, either!
