With The Golden Globes putting movies on everyone's minds, we're looking forward to catching some of our fave celebs in some great films over the next few months. Here are just a few getting us excited...

One Missed Call

This new horror/thriller sounds a bit like Scream, mixed with The Ring. Eeeek! Perhaps a good one for taking your other half to, so you can grab hands at that appropriate moment? The story is actually another Japanese re-make, (cos they do horror best, after all) - this one of the film ‘Chakushin Ari' (2003). In this pant-wetting drama, several people start receiving voice-mails from their future selves - messages which include the date, time, and some of the details of their deaths. Lovely!

Who's in it?
Watch out for Shannyn Sossamon in this one. You'll recognize this pretty brunette from her part in ‘A Knight's Tale', opposite Heath Ledger. In 2002 she was also in ‘40 Days and 40 Nights', opposite Josh Hartnett, and ‘The Rules of Attraction', for director Roger Avary. Don't forget a spare pair of pants... or just a cushion to hide behind.
Release Date - February 21st

10,000 BC

Even the trailer for this one had us sitting on the edge of our seats, gripping the arms! This epic action adventure, from the Director of Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow promises amazing special effects and CGI technology. It follows a young mammoth hunter's journey through uncharted territory, as he struggles to secure the future of his tribe.

Who's in it?
This is a film set No one you'll really know, at the moment, although hunky Moha is set to get a few heart's racing. Played by newbie Reece Ritchie, he's also set to star in the film adaptation of the bestselling novel ‘The Lovely Bones', released in 2009.
Release Date - March 13th

The Bucket List

Weird title, but it sounds intriguing. Technically, this is a feel-good movie about learning to live life to the fullest - hmm, probably not a lesson you need to learn, seeing as you already live in Dubai. But still. In this flick, two terminally ill patients head off on a road trip, with a wish list of things they want to do before they die. We predict you'll need a box of tissues.

Who's in it?
Jack Nicholson's gone from inspiring terror with Psycho lines like "Heeeeeeere's Jonny", to moving us to tears for an entirely different reason. These days he seems to like playing dads and hard nut figures with a lesson to learn. Take your mum, or your nanny, or someone with a bit of pent-up angst or emotion to let loose. Morgan Freeman also stars.
Release Date - March 27th

Speed Racer

This is the brand new offering from the Wachowski brothers (Matrix) and uses live action with animation and computer CGI to create this amazing looking movie. Based on the classic 1960's Japanese animated series, this fast moving film chronicles the aspirations of a young race car driver as he attempts to obtain glory. (Don't they all). With the help of his family and the Mach 5, (the advanced car created by his father) we follow his adventures from the edge of our seats. Check out the speed freak cars, with their go faster stripes!

Who's in it?
Emile Hirsh (‘Alpha Dog', ‘The Girl Next Door') and Christina Ricci (Black Snake Moan', ‘Sleepy Hollow') play the leads, . Susan Sarandon and John Goodman also lend their excellence.

Release Date - May 8th

Get Smart

Here's an action comedy that's bound to be a hit. Inspired by the classic television series of the same name, in ‘Get Smart', Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) is on a mission to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS. Smart is partnered with the only other agent whose identity has not been compromised: the lovely-but-lethal veteran Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway). Watch out for comedy, ridiculousness and oodles of spy-tech

Who's in it?
‘Devil Wears Prada' beauty Anne Hathaway stars alongside funny man Steve Carrell. Watch out too for Masi Oka (TV's ‘Heroes') and David Koechner ("Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy").
Release Date - July 10th

The Dark Knight

Batman has never been so good, or so dark for that matter! With heath Ledger as The Joker we all want to see this movie, plus, with 7 mins in IMAX 3D, we can't wait to don those specs and get up close and personal with a host of stars! In The Dark Knight, Batman (Christian Bale) sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations, which are plaguing the streets of Gotham City. Pretty soon he's deep in a reign of chaos, unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker.

Who's in it?
Perhaps, who isn't in it would be a better question. Alongside Christian Bale and a scary looking Heath Ledger, you'll see Michael Caine, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Eric Roberts, Aaron Eckhart and Cillian Murphy. Now that's gotta be worth the 30 dirham ticket!
