Musical biopics are big business in Hollywood, not to mention surefire awards shoe-ins. So the news that Courtney Love wants Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Gosling to play her and her late husband, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, on the big screen, comes as no surprise - they're two of the hottest stars of the moment!

"Courtney really admires Scarlett and has already sent the contract out for her to sign," spilled an insider. "She wants the best actors to portray them - she will be on set giving Scarlett and Ryan advice on what it was like being one half of the most notorious couple since Sid and Nancy. It will be explosive."

Rumours of a Kurt Cobain movie have been doing the rounds since his death in 1994, but none have ever come to fruition. And now, although Court is said to be producing the adaptation of the Kurt biography, Heavier Than Heaven, the actress has been far more focused on getting as skinny as possible, and having as much surgery as she can.

With Kirsten Dunst also linked to the project, with even Britney named as a possible contender, it seems unlikely that Scarlett's ready to sign on the dotted line. And as for art flick-loving Ryan? He's never expressed one iota of interest in chanelling Cobain.
