Flaunting every summer’s number one accessory – a brilliantly toned bikini bod – LAUREN CONRAD is in seriously good shape. Thanks to a fun-packed workout and nutrition plan, the Hills star has fine-tuned her fabulous figure, and is looking buffer than ever before. Wanna know how she did it? Read on!

Punch power!
Working with personal trainer JARRET DEL BENE, Lauren hits the gym three to four times a week, focusing her exercise regime around the Body Box – a high intensity body conditioning workout which combines kickboxing and circuit training. Credited with getting her flab-free, Body Box mixes high-energy kickboxing and punching moves with strengthening exercises like squats, sit-ups, push-ups and lunges.

“Lauren doesn’t get bored, because the high-intensity combos are always changing,” revealed Jarret.

Mini meals
Complementing her heavy-duty workout with a nutritious diet, Lauren grazes on six small meals a day, varying her calorie intake from between 1,200 and 1,500 calories (anything below this amount can pose a health risk.) Kick-starting her metabolism with a high-energy brekkie, Lauren tucks into egg whites, turkey bacon, toast and fruit on a normal day, and knocks back a protein shake or cottage cheese with a handful of fruit if she’s in a hurry. For lunch, it’s usually salads with hummus or salsa and dinner is a plate of sushi. She also steers clear of red meat in favour of lean turkey, grilled chicken breast or seafood.

Top tips!

Lauren’s trainer Jarret Del Bene reveals his top five fitness tips for a super-toned summer bod...

1 Fab abs Instead of doing “hundreds of sit-ups a day,” Jarret recommends strength training moves that work the whole body.

2 Plan your workout “Decide if you’re going to do cardio. If so, what machine, for how long and at what intensity? If you’re planning to do weights, decide if you want to work your whole body or focus on certain muscle groups.”

3 Get fit for free “If you don’t have a gym membership, you can buy some bands or free weights and a stability ball. I do lots of lunges, squats, step-ups, push-ups and sit-ups with my clients – and you can do those anywhere.”

4 Team up “If you’re getting bored with your workout, exchange fitness tips with a friend. Also, try working with a trainer or a partner, since everyone has different routines, and it helps to constantly switch it up.”

5 Stay active “The most important thing you can do once you’ve lost weight or toned up is stay active.”
