This is a restaurant that has taken the authentic Arabian theme to extreme limits, and been entirely successful. Al Hadheerah is built to resemble an old fashioned Arabian village, complete with cosy majlis-style booths, elaborately cushioned rooftop seats and tables near the venue’s central stage. Drama is part of the evening’s menu, with a band, Dabkah dancers, horse and camel displays and a belly dancer, all providing lively entertainment for the evening’s diners. In short, Al Hadheerah’s moody, al fresco setting with the warmth and light provided by numerous flaming torches and firepits set against the desert’s velvety black night sky, is an ambiance that would be impossible to re-create elsewhere. The food is deliciously authentic too and is served as part of a bountiful outdoor buffet, although dishes from the chef can also be ordered. Whole goat, roasted for hours in the restaurant’s traditional wood oven, fragrant rice, traditional Emirati dishes, plenty of fresh fish, mezze, grilled, skewered meat, salads and bread, ensure guests to Al Hadheerah really do discover the true meaning of Arabic hospitality.
