Aside from the truly stunning setting, Axel’s menu is the real star of the show – from the mouth-watering starters of scallops and slow-roasted pumpkin coulis, with lobster ravioli, to the salt-crusted sea bass that is simply the most delicious, fresh and moist fish we’ve ever tasted!
Empire’s signature dish offers a refreshing twist on the traditional ‘starched linen’ night out. The tuna tartare is freshly prepared at your table by the enigmatic sommelier and manager Laurent Duval (an Anthony La Paglia lookalike for Without A Trace fans!), who makes up a delicious mayonnaise bursting with capers and shallots, and a French dressing that is as authentic as the Frenchman making it. Perfect if you’re watching your waistline.
But the menu highlight has to be the Empire Crepes Suzette, which you definitely need to save some room for! Theatrically flambeed at the table by Laurent, who seamlessly creates the traditional French dessert in front of you, it’s the sweetest end to the evening!
